On Saturday afternoon a Bowls Wiltshire team went to Chippenham Park to play in a game to celebrate the 90th Anniversary of the Club’s formation. It was extremely hot so the break at 11 ends was very welcome.
There was some competitive bowling and much – sometimes uncalled for! – banter across the green which all made for a very enjoyable afternoon.
The end result was a win by 24 shots for the BW side and the Top Rink was skipped by John Lucas playing with Mary Butchers, John Menzies and Richard Gardiner.
Thank you to all at Chippenham Park who made the BW side so welcome and provided a lovely meal after the game. This was the last of the 5 BW Mixed Friendly games to be played this season but there will be more next year and they are open to anyone who is a member of a BW Club – availability sheets are sent to All Clubs early in the season.
