Middleton Cup slips away against Hampshire

The Bowls Wiltshire Middleton Cup Team stepped out onto the green at Leamington at the start of the BE National Championship Finals on Saturday August 2nd and, after the National anthem was played and the Finals were officially opened by Adie Lloyd – BE President, they set about the task of trying to get the better of the Hampshire team. A large number of people had traveled from Wiltshire to support the boys but this was not enough to carry them through to the Final – despite the fact that they stayed at their viewing positions under their umbrellas through some very heavy rain! Hampshire went on to play Norfolk in the Final in the afternoon – this game also blighted and interrupted by a thunderstorm – and they won this to take the Trophy.
