Well!! What a great turnout for the Hotspot Launch Event! There were 70 representatives from 39 of the 49 BW Clubs at the meeting on Saturday 16th January at Devizes BC.
It was a logistical exercise to work out how to accommodate this many people at tables (needed for tea/coffee, cake, leaflets etc) and then be able to split into groups after the initial Presentation. The response was fantastic and there was a very positive atmosphere throughout the afternoon, with Clubs keen to obtain information and get involved in this exciting project.
Devizes BC President Rosemary welcomed everyone and then the Meeting was opened by June Corbett, BW Chair. Steve Boocock from WASP then gave an introduction to the scheme and Dominique Oughton talked through a Power Point presentation which gave an overview and some basic information about the main items in the Delivery Plan. The representatives then heard 3 separate Hosts each speaking on one particular area of the Plan – Packages, Coaching, Just Bowl and Just One. There are other areas involved – Safeguarding, ClubMark, Disability Bowls etc.
Club Contacts will receive a copy of the Power Point Presentation by e mail so that Club Committees can discuss which areas are of interest to their particular Club. If your Club wishes to get involved the next step will be to make contact with
Thank you to everyone who came to the Meeting and to all the Club Contacts for ensuring that the information was passed to Club Officers. Also a big thank you to Devizes BC once again for their unstinting hospitality – it is hugely appreciated by all of us.
