Success for Wiltshire at Leamington

  • WILTSHIRE WIN INAUGURAL MEN’S SENIOR FOURS CHAMPIONSHIP

    Royal Wootton Bassett BC’s Barry Sictorness, Terry Walton, Chris Cheesley and Mel Biggs have won the inaugural Bowls England Men’s Senior Fours Championship, this afternoon at Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa.

    They defeated George Williams, Cyril Pearson, Michael Creegan and Michael English, from Dipton Park BC, Durham, 19-16 in Thursday’s final.

    The Wiltshire rink defeated Avenue Coventry BC’s Phil Birch, Richard Lewis, Steve Taylor and Colin Jacox 18-14 in this morning’s semi-final.

    The Durham quartet defeated Essex’s Fred Mitson, Tony Cook, Gordon Howell and Jim Oakes, from Harlow BC by the same scoreline.
