On Sunday 24th February 2019, the Wiltshire EBYDS (English Bowls Youth Development Scheme) finals were held at Five Rivers Indoor Bowls Club. The bowlers are split into Seniors and Juniors sections and play a round robin competition in the morning and four skills tests in the Afternoon. Each event is marked with the totals added to find the winners in each section.
The event was well attended by Parents, Helpers and Coaches and we thank all of them. A special thanks to Five Rivers for hosting the event and to WIBA who helped fund the event.
The results are:
1 Emily Jacob – 61 points – N Wilts
2 Kerry Hatherall – 56 Points – Westlecot
3 Arthur Brown – 52 points – N Wilts
4 Andrew Mardle – 50 points – N Wilts
5 Ellise Ambridge – 37 points – N Wilts
6 Eddie Mason – 33 points – Five Rivers
1 Zoe Fletcher – 60 points – Westlecot
2 Evan Boynton – 42 points – Five Rivers
3 Marissa Ambridge – 34 points – N Wilts
4 Olli Joyce – 17 points – N Wilts
Congratulations to you all. It was a fine display of skill. All the players were presented with Certificates of Attendance and the winners their respective trophies.
There will probably be a Regional event in April where the Wiltshire players will meet the Worcestershire finalists. The winners and runner ups from the two sections at the Regional Finals will then play at the National EBYDS Finals later in the year.
