White Rose report from Adam Tanner

Unfortunately our White Rose team narrowly lost to Gloucestershire on Sunday morning. In a closely contested game, in which neither team led by a margin beyond single figures at any stage, the final overall score was 38-35.

The margins were very fine, and we came very close to winning the match on the final end. On an extremely hot day, on which we were missing the experience and ability of 2 of our key players, I was very pleased with the efforts and mentality of our team.

Gloucestershire went on in the afternoon to beat Somerset and qualify for the national finals, and we were unfortunate not to have the opportunity to do so ourselves. Only 1 of Sunday’s players will go overage ahead of next season, and most of our team are aged 21 or under, so the prospects ahead of next season look good.

Best Regards,
