U25 friendly versus Oxfordshire

Match report from U25 Team Manager, Adam Tanner

On Saturday we travelled to South Oxford bowls club to play Oxfordshire County U25 in a warm-up game for our White Rose fixture and county games this year. It was a tough fixture against an Oxfordshire side which last season reached the national final of the White Rose Trophy. This represented an ideal test for us.

The rink of Jamie Shadwell, George Twine, David Murray and Ben Choules won a low scoring game 17-11. Kyle Anderson also had a strong win, and Michael Titcombe lost narrowly. Although a rink skipped by Ashley Peach was more heavily beaten, this was a very inexperienced rink, and I was very pleased with their performances and conduct. Although we lost the match 80-70, it’s worth mentioning that we had the better of the Oxfordshire rinks which contained their White Rose Trophy players.

A team for next weekend’s White Rose Trophy fixture versus Gloucestershire is being finalised, and will shortly be published.

Rink Scores:

Jamie Shadwell/George Twine/David Murray/Ben Choules won 17-11

Jordan Moody/Chris Poole/Craig Morphet/Mike Titcombe lost 18 – 21

James Richman/Adam Bolwell/Craig Hatherall/Kyle Anderson won 23-15

John Hermon/Jack Wilkins/Bradley Frankham/Ashley Peach lost 12-33
